EXPERIENCE
Sony Pictures Imageworks(February 2005 – present) Senior Character Animator I am animating like a maniac on Beowulf, before that, Surf’s Up, before that, Monster House.
Waterford(October 2004 – February 2005) Character Designer I concocted characters and explored their ranges of emotion for a series in children’s educational software.
Toonstruck –in association with Reel FX(September 2004 – December 2004) Digital Character Animator I created character and creature animation for the feature film Action Man. Lots of fun!
Sony Pictures Imageworks(March 2004 – August 2004) Digital Character Animator I was a stellar animator on The Polar Express, in spite of the limitations we were working with.
Waterford(April 2001-February 2004) Animation Artist I did many things: character animation, character design, storyboards, modeling, lighting, texturing, rigging, and compositing. I also taught training classes in animation principles and character design.
Film Roman(June-August 2000) Character Layout Artist (Internship) I “cut my teeth” doing character layout work on The Simpsons. This was through the internship program with the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Ricks Brothers Animation(May-September 1999) Concept Artist Character design, storyboard, and children’s book illustration.
EDUCATION
BrighamYoungUniversity(1999-2002) BFA Degree: Industrial Design (Animation emphasis) Taught training sessions for general drawing skills, and Maya software. Two projects shown at 'Final Cut' film festival; one included in 'The Best of Final Cut'.
Earned four academic scholarships.
RicksCollege(1997-1999) Major: Illustration Earned academic and talent scholarships.
